Badagry is a coastal town in Lagos State, Nigeria. It was also a hub for selling slaves during the trans-Atlantic slave trade. It is now a historical town that recounts its gruesome history to visitors and spectators. I was opportune to visit Badagry as part of a compulsory 2-unit course for the department of History and International Studies, University of Ilorin. While taking these images, all I could think of was how Africans were enslaved and made to go through death itself. And how similar racism and misogyny are. A part of Badagry’s history also shows the advent of Christianity.
