Equip the Child at the Oasis Academy

a grid of six children from the Oasis Academy, placed side by side.

I will continue to think about these images. When I volunteered for the Society of Social Justice — an advocacy group in the University of Ilorin — one of the projects entailed visiting an academy named The Oasis Academy (TOSA). TOSA is a subsidiary of the Home And Streets Kids Welfare initiative (HSKi).  Funmi Omisope founded TOSA to afford street children the opportunity of getting an education. The academy schools them for 6-months before they enrol in real schools. You can see more of HSKi and TOSA here

In coming the days, I hope to write about my experience. But what I will say now is that the children in the photographs were very dedicated to learning. Sadly, we live in a country that murders the dreams of many.
